Munawar Faruqui emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss 17 on Sunday, January 28. Abhishek Kumar was the first runner-up of the show followed by Mannara Chopra, Ankita Lokhande and Arun Mashetty. Besides the Bigg Boss 17 trophy, Munawar Faruqui also took home a swanky new car and a grand cash prize of Rs 50 lakh. The comedian was overwhelmed with joy when he was announced as the winner of Salman Khan’s show. His mother and sister had also come on the show to support him during the finale episode.

To allegations of his win being fixed, Munawar told ETimes, “Yaar fixed winner ko itna sab go through karna pade toh it can’t be a fixed winner. If I would have been a fixed winner I would have got everything on a platter. I’ve got nothing on a platter, I’ve worked hard and a lot. My answer to people who are calling me a fixed winner is just sit and watch the entire season and you will realise that it wasn’t fixed.”
