[Watch] Forest Fires In Odisha: Non-Odia DFO Croons In Odia To Promote Awareness
Malkangiri: With forest fire emerging as a burning environmental issue in Odisha, a non-Odia forest officer has come out with an Odia song sung by him to promote awareness in this regard.
Malkangiri divisional forest officer (DFO) Pradip Debidas Mirase of Maharashtra is as much concerned by the forest fire as any environmentalist. Considering the colossal damage that the fire causes to the biosphere of the area, Mirase has mobilised his officials to move to villages and perform street plays on protection of forests.
The DFO himself has also recorded a song sung by him in Odia to motivate the people to refrain from igniting fire for poaching or collecting forest produce. The song written by four foresters of his division has been recorded in a studio in Jeypore of Koraput district.
The song has elicited a favourable response from the people of the area who have highly appreciated the efforts of the DFO for protection of forest.
