[Watch] On-Flight Water Leakage From Overhead Bin; Air India Regrets Incident

Mumbai: In a strangely bizarre incident, there was water leakage from the overhead bin of an Air India flight.

A video went viral on Thursday showing water dripping from the ceiling of the plane mid-air as passengers stayed rooted to their seats.

The rare leakage took place on flight AI-169, operating from London Gatwick airport to Amritsar on November 24.

The video was watched thousands of times, forcing Air India to explain what caused it and regret the ‘unexpected incident’.

“Flight AI169 operating from Gatwick to Amritsar on 24th November 2023 had developed a rare occurrence of condensation adjustment inside the cabin. Some of our guests seated in the affected rows were promptly relocated to other vacant seats and given the circumstances, the cabin crew made every effort to make the guests comfortable. Air India is committed to the safety and comfort of guests on board and we regret this unexpected incident,” the airline said in a statement.
