Bhubaneswar: On a day when the Congress accused the BJD for paralysing proceedings in the Odisha Assembly, BJD MLA Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak issued a counter and said the ruling party has always been working for the welfare of the state’s people.
“For the last 22 years, the BJD has always made efforts to ensure that the Assembly runs smoothly and people’s issues are heard,” said Atanu Sabyasachi.
The BJD leader further said Congress legislators locked the first day of the Assembly session and even prevented the ruling party MLAs from entering the House. “Many important issues could not be discussed due to the disturbances created by the Congress,” said Atanu Sabyasachi.
The Congress MLAs created all sorts of disruptions in the House which are not acceptable in the Assembly, he said and added protests are part of the proceedings, but outside the Assembly premises and not in the manner Congress MLAs did.
