[Watch] PM Modi Enjoys Early Morning Elephant Safari At Kaziranga National Park

Kaziranga: It was the Prime Minister’s morning out at Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam on Saturday.

Having arrived in Assam on Friday on a two-day tour, Narendra Modi travelled to Kaziranga for his maiden visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, reported PTI.

The PM first took an elephant safari in Mihimukh area of the Park’s Central Kohora Range, followed by a jeep safari inside the same range, an official said.

Modi was accompanied by Park director Sonali Ghosh and other senior forest officials.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Modi will have another hectic day of addressing public meetings and inaugurating projects.

He will unveil an 84-foot-tall statue honouring Lachit Borphukan, renowned General of the Royal Army of Ahom Kingdom of Assam.

Modi will then participate in the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit North East’ programme in Arunachal Pradesh’s Itanagar, where he will inaugurate the ‘Sela Tunnel’ and unveil the ‘UNNATI scheme’ worth around Rs 10,000 crore.

Later in the day, the PM will travel to Siliguri in West Bengal to spearhead the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit West Bengal’ programme.
