Bhubaneswar: Get ready, Christmas is here and Santa Claus is coming to town from his home in the icy North Pole. Always too busy launching rockets, exploring outer space and searching for signs of life on other planets, NASA too has joined in the Christmas spirit, sending greetings to every corner of the cosmos from “life as we know it on Planet Earth”.
To celebrate the spirit of Christmas, the premier space agency has shared an animated video on Twitter. “From our corner of the cosmos to yours, season’s greetings from NASA!” it wrote.
“From the Moon to Mars to the solar system and beyond, season’s greetings from all of us at NASA!” the US space agency said.

In the video, two astronauts explore in a rover a snow-covered landscape full of Christmas trees.
The astronauts are filled with joy and wonder by the enchanting landscape dotted with interplanetary signs showing in which direction lies the Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. And how far. The distances are in million kilometres. A signage in the beginning says ‘Lunar South Pole 363,104 km’.
Unmanned spacecraft, rovers and probes zip all around, exploring the landscape. There is also NASA’s DART chasing asteroids.
The video ends with three NASA T-38 jets — used by the space agency to train astronauts and as chase planes — flying over the landscape with ‘Seasons Greetings’ written in snow.
