Colombo: It was carnage at Premadasa Stadium here on Sunday.
Spearheaded by a dream spell by Mohammed Siraj, the Indian quicks skittled out Sri Lanka for 50 in just 15.2 overs in the Asia Cup final, silencing a huge home crowd.
Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. Rain caused a 30-minute delay, but once play got underway, the Indian pacers were on fire.
Jasprit Bumrah induced an edge off Kusal Perera with his third delivery and KL Rahul dived across his right to pouch a brilliant catch.
Mohammad Siraj started off with a maiden over from the other end. And in his second over, Siraj was breathed fire and was simply unplayable.
Moving the ball both ways, the crafty pacer picked up four wickets in the over – with his first, third, fourth and six balls.
