Cuttack: The FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 opening ceremony began around 4 pm at Barabati Stadium in Odisha’s Cuttack on Wednesday.
The series of events began with a tribal group performance by Guru Aruna Mohanty along with Namita Meleka followed by performances by singer Sniti Mishra, Rapper Big Deal, and India’s Raw Star winner Rituraj Mohanty.

The inaugural ceremony, which is a precursor to the hockey world cup scheduled from January 13-29, will showcase Odisha’s culture and heritage through performances and technology this evening. Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh, and Disha Patani, and music director Pritam, who has composed the Hockey World Cup theme song ‘Hockey Hai Dil Mera’, K-Pop band BLACKSWAN featuring Sriya Lenka of Odisha will perform live.
