Professional sport is back on track, but most of them are being conducted behind closed doors in the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic which is still raging in a number of countries.
Following COVID-19 guidelines like wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing are absolutely mandatory for all sportspersons, officials and organizers who are at the forefront of the action.
In a brazen violation, football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was seen seated in the stands without a mask, during the European Nations League match between Portugal and Croatia on Sunday night.
Cristiano, who did not play the match following a bee sting, had to be reminded about the protocol by a member of staff in the stadium, keeping everyone’s safety in mind. Realizing his folly, the Juventus star obliged by putting on a mask without delay.
Here’s a clip of the incident which has gone viral on social media:
Olha a responsabilidade, Robozão! Cristiano Ronaldo, que está na arquibancada, levou essa chamada aí por estar sem máscara. Todo mundo tem que usar para se proteger, não tem jeito! #NationsLeagueNoEI
