New Delhi: The fetish for making videos to be posted on social media claimed yet another life in Maharashtra when a young woman died after accidentally reversing her car off a cliff and falling 300 feet into a gorge. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Shweta Deepak Surwase.
Surwase was learning to drive and was attempting to reverse the vehicle when the tragic incident occurred.
The fateful accident was captured on camera by her friend, 25-year-old Suraj Sanjau Mule, who was recording a video of her learning to drive. The two friends had travelled from Aurangabad to Sulibhanjan Hills on Monday afternoon.
A young woman, while trying to make a video (Reel), accidentally pressed the accelerator in reverse gear, causing the car to fall into a ditch, resulting in her death.

The incident took place around 2 pm when Surwase got into the car and began slowly reversing it. She then continues to reverse the vehicle while just 50 m away from the cliff despite her friend’s suggestion to remain on the clutch.
While backing up, the car’s speed increases, leading the it to fall into the gorge, killing Surwase.
According to witnesses, the car rolled down the 300-foot high cliff and fell into a gorge. Visuals showed the mangled remains of the vehicle in the gorge, according to News18.
