New Delhi: Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT) deputy chief and Pahalgam terror attack mastermind Saifullah Kasuri has issued an open threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CNN-News18 reported.
In a video message accessed by the television channel, Kasuri has accused India of engaging in “water terrorism.”
The video is being circulated on Pakistan-based online platforms, which are banned in India.
Kasuri claimed to act in the name of “flood relief work”, and openly vowed to avenge recent floods which devastated parts of Pakistan.
One of LeT founder Hafiz Saeed’s closest aides, Kasuri claimed that India is “doing water terrorism”, alleging that New Delhi deliberately caused flooding in Pakistan through “uncontrolled water release.”
Kasuri praised Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir, urging him to “teach a lesson to PM Modi like we did on May 10, 2025”.
Kasuri’s video is being viewed as a coordinated ISI-backed narrative aimed at inflaming public sentiment in Pakistan against the Indian government which gave its Armed forces a free hand to avenge the horrific April 22 Pahalgam attack in which 26 innocent men were shot dead. Indian forces launched the well-planned and measured ‘Operation Sindoor’ in the early hours of May 7, and in a matter of 25 minutes, destroyed nine terror hubs in Pakistan and PoK, including the LeT headquarters in Muridke, in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
As part of a slew of punitive measures against Pakistan post the Pahalgam attack, Indian government suspended the Indus Water Treaty, an agreement signed in 1960 to divide the waters of Indus River system between the two countries.
