Wet Spell Brings Down Temp In Cuttack, Bhubaneswar; Mercury To Rise By 4-6°C In Odisha After 3 Days

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience a rise in the both day and night temperature by 4-6 degree celsius after three days of rain, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre informed on Friday.

“No large change in both maximum temperature and minimum temperature during next 3 days and gradual rise by 4-6°C in subsequent 3 days at many places in Odisha.”

Amid a few spells of heavy rain, the state capital Bhubaneswar recorded 33.8 degree Celsius, 1.2 degrees below normal, in the last 24 hours, while the mercury dropped to 31.6 degree Celsius, 3.2 degrees below normal, in twin city Cuttack. The highest day temperature of 37 degree Celsius was recorded at Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district followed by Rayagada and Malkangiri at 36 degree Celsius each.

RAINFALL IN LAST 24 HOURS

According to the weather agency, it will continue to rain at a few places in coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Rayagada districts till 8.30 am on Saturday. Some places in South Coastal Odisha , Cuttack, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Balangir, Boudh, and Nabarangpur will experience light to moderate rain during the subsequent 24 hours.

Light rain/thundershowers will continue at one or two places in Koraput, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Nabarangpur on March 10. After 3 days of dry weather, light rain may resume at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh on March 14, it added.
