What Will Remain Open/Closed In Odisha’s Ganjam During Lockdown Relaxation Directives

Chatrapur: Ganjam district administration on Saturday eased the lockdown restrictions and issued directives for shops to be reopened.

A notification of office of the District Disaster Management authority issued certain directions:

Shops which will be allowed to open:

  • Pharmaceutical (medicine) shops shall remain open 24×7
  • All other permitted shops shall remain open from 7 am to 12 noon
  • All shops (except the following shops) registered under the Odisha Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1956 including shops in residential complexes, market complexes except shops in multi-brand and single brand malls, outside the limits of the Municipal Corporations and Municipalities with 50% strength of workers. Wearing of masks and social distancing will be mandatory
  • Authorised /registered shops dealing with meat/fish/chicken /eggs are to be kept opened

The shops which will not be allowed to open:

  • Tea stalls/ food stalls/ hotels (without permission), jewellery, beauty parlours, salons/gyms, fast food (thella)/ cloth market/paan, tobacco, gutka, chewing gum and any food items promoting spitting
  • Those operating on Govt. land by way of encroachment
  • The shops which are not registered under the Odisha Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1956
  • The shops prohibited to operate are not permitted to open even if the establishments are registered under the Odisha Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1956.1n view of dilution of Social Distancing Protocol.

The advisory:

  • Senior citizens and children are advised not to come outside
  • Registered shops/establishments under the Odisha Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1956 Commercial Establishments and permitted shops are encouraged to facilitate home delivery to minimise the movement of individuals outside the home.
