WhatsApp on Wednesday rolled out a new version of its app made for KaiOS.
KaiOS is the operating system (OS) used in feature phones such as JioPhone, JioPhone 2 and Nokia 8110. It is based on the Firefox OS.

Users can download the app from KaiStore.
The app requires at least 256MB or 512MB RAM phones to run. It has most of the features of WhatsApp used on other platforms such as calling, messaging, and end-to-end encryption.
In April 2019, WhatsApp had rolled out a similar version for the Nokia 8110. But it was limited to the Indian market only.
This new app will help many people using low-cost feature phones get an entry into the world of WhatsApp.
