When Odisha Honeytrap Kingpin Archana Trapped A Girl By Spiking Her Food; Check Other Details

Bhubaneswar: Her food was spiked at a party and she later woke up to find herself with no clothes on. In the FIR, the girl, who had lodged a complaint with Khandagiri police against the honeytrap racket kingpin Archana Naga, narrated the series of events that led to her being trapped by the Archana and what conspired then on.

Archana befriended her while she was staying in a rented house in Jagamara. Archana and her husband Jagabandhu were residing on the ground floor of the building. The couple invited her over to their house for a party in 2019 and made her consume food spiked with drugs. When she regained consciousness, she found no clothes on her body and later came to know that the couple took her nude photos and recorded videos, the complainant alleged.

The duo threatened to make those viral if she didn’t act as per their instruction.

In April 2020, Archana gave her the phone number of a man from Nayagarh and asked her to chat with him on WhatsApp. Archana then recorded the nude video call between the man and the girl and extorted lakhs of rupees from him by blackmailing him with the clip and threatening to lodge a rape case against him. She also gave Rs 50,000 to the girl.

In April this year, Archana gave her the mobile number of well-known filmmaker Akshay Parija. She also brought the filmmaker to the girl’s house at Jagamara and recorded their intimate moments. He too was threatened and blackmailed. When Parija refused the cough up the amount, Archana wrote a complaint in the name of the girl using her forged signature and sent it to Laxmisagar police station on September 22, the girl mentioned in her complaint.

Archana allegedly lured politicians, bureaucrats and other high-profile persons using the same modus operandi and then blackmailed them. The matter came to the light after Parija lodged a counter-complaint at Nayapalli police station and Archana was arrested on October 6 on the basis of the complaint lodged by the girl on October 2.

In his FIR, filmmaker Akhyay Parija mentioned that Archana identified herself as a lawyer and blackmailed him saying that she had obscene videos of him with her client. “Archana struck a deal with me at a city-based posh hotel and demanded Rs 3 crore from me. She threatened to kill me by cutting me into pieces if I did not oblige,” he alleged.

At least two ministers, including one from western Odisha, a senior BJP leader also from western Odisha, a former MLA, a veteran BJD leader and some bureaucrats also allegedly fell victim to the racket.
