Mumbai: Karim Morani is set to make a film based on the life of Karimul Haque, also known as Bike Ambulance Dada — the man who garnered accolades for his selfless service in remote areas.
According to a report in Uttarbanga Sambad, Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Sonu Sood are being considered for the lead role in Karimul’s biopic.
Karimul has already given his consent to the filmmakers for the biopic and signed a contract.
“It is a matter of great honour for me that a film is being made based on my life. If this film manages to inspire people, nothing can be better than that,” Karimul was quoted as saying.
Karimul further said that he met Sonu Sood in Mumbai and the actor was keen on essaying his character on screen.
“I have met Sonu Sood personally. He is a very good person. He told me that he wants to play my character on screen. But he is almost a feet taller than me. Despite him being a brilliant actor, the makers are skeptical whether Sonu Sood will be able to portray my role since there is a stark difference in our physical appearance. The makers wanted to know my view on this,” he revealed.
The report also suggested that several other actors, including Shah Rukh, are being considered for the lead role.
The yet-to-be-titled film will be helmed by Vinay Mudgal and will apparently go on floors in January next year.
Years ago, Karimul had grabbed headlines for carrying patients to hospital in his bike ambulance.
Karimul has been honoured with the Padma Shri Award for his incredible service.
