Mumbai: Akshay Kumar has appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show (TKSS) several times, with the two sharing a very cordial relationship.
But it seems all is not well between the two right now.
Eyebrows were raised when it came to light that the shoot of a TKSS episode, featuring Akshay and his co-stars of ‘Bachchan Pandey’, was postponed, the Hindustan Times reported.
According to sources, the problem started when Kapil asked Akshay on a recent show about an interview the latter had done with a ‘famous personality’ – apparently PM Narendra Modi — where the Bollywood superstar asked him whether he liked mangoes.
The clip shows Akshay challenging Kapil to openly name the personality, but the comedian diverts the subject.
The actor reportedly requested the channel not to air this portion as it made light of the PM’s office.
Though the channel agreed, the ‘controversial’ scene was leaked on Internet.
Akshay sought an explanation on the breach of trust, but none was forthcoming.
The shoot of TKSS episode to promote Bachchan Pandey — directed by Farhad Samji and co-starring Kriti Sanon and Jacqueline Fernandez – was thereafter postponed.
