Why Did Kangana Ranaut Thank The High Court? Read Here
Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut on Monday thanked the Bombay High Court through a post in social media.
What made the controversial actress so elated?
Her reaction came after the Bombay High Court refused to hear Javed Akhtar’s plea in her passport renewal case.
The poet, lyricist and screenplay writer had filed an intervention application in which he contended that Kangana had misled the court to get an assurance from Passport Authority of India to expedite her passport renewal application.
The high court, however, refused to give Akhtar an audience.
“Movie mafia trying to prove there is no harassment of any outsider at all by openly and shamelessly harassing an outside ….. Thank you Bombay HC,” Kangana posted, obviously referring to Akhtar’s petition.
The Manikarnika actress revealed in June that her passport renewal application had been denied by local passport authority in Mumbai as there was an FIR against her by Bandra police on charges of sedition.
She eventually received a fresh passport after moving Bombay HC and travelled to Europe to shoot for ‘Dhaakad’.
Directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai, ‘Dhaakad’ features Kangana as an officer. Divya Dutta and Arjun Rampal also star in the film, which is based on issues like child trafficking and crimes against women.
Kangana will also be seen in ‘Thalaivi’, a biopic on actor-turned-politician J Jayalalithaa, ‘Tejas’, ‘Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda’ and ‘Emergency’, in which she will play the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
