Puri: A strange scene unfolded before patients and doctors at the District Headquarters Hospital in Odisha’s Puri district on Thursday night when a man reached there along with his wife and a snake in a container, leaving everyone dumbfounded.
Sources said Shakuntala Behera, a resident of Manapada village under Bramahagiri police limits of Puri district, was bitten by a snake on Thursday night. Upon hearing her cries, her husband Trinath Behera came to her rescue. While his wife was writhing in pain, the snake was slithering away from the room. Trinath immediately swung into action and managed to capture the reptile in a container. He then rushed to the hospital along with his wife and the snake in an ambulance.
Sources said, Trinath placed the container before a doctor on duty who identified the snake and started her treatment accordingly. Shakuntala was admitted to the medicine ward of the hospital.
