It’s not easy to be a Bachchan scion. No choices for guessing that the reference here is Abhishek Bachchan, who turns 46 today. So, Happy Birthday Abhishek!

To stand tall in the face of harsh criticism, constant comparison with a famous father, merciless trolling is no easy task, yet Abhishek has done it with the utmost dignity, wit and charm, never ever letting the harshest of critics catch him unguarded.

Given that there is nepotism in the film industry, Abhishek Bachchan has lost more than he has gained from the trend. Much of the criticism against him has been unjust, borne more out of comparison with his father and on account of his lineage. This invariably cast a shadow on many of his performances done with conviction.

He is perhaps the least celebrated in his family of Padma winners and national awardees, what to say of his international celebrity wife Aishwarya Rai. Abhishek comes across as a true feminist, never once wincing in the face of the success of his more famous wife, father and mother.

He stole my heart with his very first film ‘Refugee’, then ‘Yuva’, ‘Sarkar’, ‘Guru,’ Mein Prem Ki Deewani Hoon,’ ‘Manmarziyaan,’ ‘Ludo,’ ‘Dostana,’ ‘Paa’ and all his other movies. I dare say, his quiet grace and intensity minus the histrionics make him a better actor than his celebrated father.

He stood out on his own in ‘Sarkar’, in which he plays a son torn between his family and politics. He won the Filmfare Best Support Actor award despite the looming presence of his father in the film.

Some of his movies may not have received the desirable box office response they deserved but there was never a lack of affection and adulation for Abhishek Bachchan, the man, the actor. He has continued to have a steady stream of fans and followers who don’t doubt his talent.

Congress leader Milind Deora recently paid the best tribute that a friend could have when he called Abhishek Bachchan one of the most natural and underrated actors in Bollywood. Acting just comes so effortlessly to him that watching him on a silver screen is nothing but a treat to your eyes.

The politician shared a video of Brut India where Abhishek is seen talking about the lows of his career and the video was titled ‘When Amitabh Bachchan Went Bankrupt’.

Sharing the video on his Twitter account, Milind Deora wrote, “In case you missed it, sharing these words of wisdom from my friend @juniorbachchan — Bollywood’s most underrated actor whose best is yet to come.@BrutIndia”.

There is no doubt that Abhishek Bachchan’s best is yet to come!
