Bhubaneswar: Will former Jharsuguda MLA Dipali Das quit Biju Janata Dal (BJD)? While raids by Income Tax department are going on at the house of late Minister Naba Kishore Das, BJD has been silent. This has caused great dissatisfaction among Naba Das’ family members and supporters of Dipali. It is being stated that BJD left her alone to face such a situation. Even there are talks about Dipali quitting BJD. There is a discussion about this possibility in various WhatsApp groups in Jharsuguda. Now, the question arises as to whether Dipali and her brother Bishal Das will really leave BJD.

Has BJD Deserted Dipali?

Income Tax raids have been going on at various places of late leader Naba Das including his house and company for the last five days. Even before the elections last year and thereafter, the Income Tax Department had raided the houses of Naba’s family and associates three times. However, BJD leaders have not opened their mouth on this issue. They are neither coming out in support of Dipali nor targeting BJP over the action of Income Tax department. It is said that the BJD has abandoned Naba’s family. There has been strong dissatisfaction among the supporters and workers of Dipali Das over this. After the Income Tax raids, there has been discussion in Jharsuguda District Council BJD, Jharsuguda Municipality BJD and Team Dipali Das WhatsApp groups on the issue. Party workers have expressed their anger BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik and senior leaders are not opposing and targeting the BJP government over the action of the I-T department.

Naba’s family met Chief Minister

Naba Das died after being shot at in broad daylight when he was the Health Minister in the previous BJD government. At that time, there was talk about possible links of many heavyweights behind the murder. However, when main accused Gopal Das was arrested, no conspiracy allegation was made. While there was change of government in the state, Dipali also lost the election from Jharsuguda. Naba Das’s wife Minati Das, son Bishal and daughter Dipali met Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and sought a CBI investigation into the sensational murder. However, the state government again ordered a thorough investigation by the Crime Branch. So far, no such interesting information has come to light in the case. However, it was discussed that Naba’s family met the BJP Chief Minister as justice was not provided during the BJD rule.

Naba’s family being targeted!

It was alleged that Naba Das’ son Bishal and some committee members and sarpanch were detained in Chhattisgarh before a no-confidence motion vote in Jharsuguda’s Kirmira Block. Dipali was angry over the action before the no-confidence vote. Subsequently, Income Tax department has been repeatedly raiding Naba’s house and company. There are allegations that the BJP government is deliberately targeting Naba’s family. However, there is growing dissatisfaction over BJD’s silence in the entire incident. BJP, which came to power by raising slogans against corruption, has not yet raided or brought under scanner any heavyweight leader of BJD. However, there is constant crackdown on Naba Das’ family. Neither the support of the BJD nor the exemption from the BJP is being received. Therefore, there is a talk about the possibility of Dipali and Bishal leaving BJD.
