Woman Arrested For Killing Lover On Infidelity Suspicion In Odisha’s Sonepur
Sonepur: Police have arrested three persons including a woman for allegedly killing her lover on suspicion of infidelity in Odisha’s Subarnapur district.
Speaking to media persons, here on Monday, Subarnapur SP Yash Pratap Srimal said the woman, identified as Jhilli Mahapatra of Deogarh district was in relationship with Dambru Adhikari of Saleipadar village under Subalaya police station for the last 5 years.
Recently, Jhili suspected that Dambru was having affair with a girl of Rourkela. Embittered by infidelity of her liver, Jhili planned to eliminate him.
She contacted Rita Nayak and Rajiv Kumar of Birmaharajpur of Subarnapur district and offered to give them Rs 40,000 to murder Dambru. As Rita and Rajiv agreed, Jhili gave them Rs 10,000 through digital payment towards advance.
The SP said Rita and Rajiv invited Dambru to go with them to a party and took him to an isolated place on January 26. There, they hacked Dambri to death with sharp weapons. They kept his body beside his motorcycle on a nearby road to make it look like accident.
Initially, the police had registered an accident case. Later, investigation led the police to the crime conspiracy and the involvement of Jhili was revealed, the SP said adding that the weapons used in the crime have been recovered and the arrested persons were forwarded to court on Monday.
