A social media influencer recently decided to have a part of her tongue removed.
The reason?
Believe it or not, Xehli G felt her lingual frenulum troubled her while kissing and affected her love life. Hence, she got a procedure done to cut lingual the frenulum, a mucous membrane fold under the tongue.
“The lingual frenulum got in my way a lot when I was flirting. As my speech was compromised, there were people who laughed.. besides that, when kissing, it was also difficult,” she was quoted as saying by Daily Star.
The procedure was done by a dentist, who specialises in lingual frenectomy.
“The surgery was one of the best things I’ve done in my life. It improved my life 100 per cent,” she said, adding that the procedure helped improve her self-esteem and confidence.
Having recovered quickly after the mini surgery, Xehli – who has 4.97 lakh followers on Instagram — said her only regret was that she didn’t go for the procedure earlier.
