Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a woman died om Monday after being attacked by a bull in Mancheswar area of Bhubaneswar.
The incident reportedly took place in Barimunda area under the jurisdiction of Mancheswar police station in the capital city.
Sources said that the woman was attacked by the bull on Sunday and had sustained severe injuries. She was admitted to a hospital, where she later died while undergoing treatment on Monday morning. The deceased woman has been identified as Hemalata Das.
It was alleged that the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) failed to take any step despite frequent demands by local residents for a permanent solution to the bull menace in the locality for a long time.
Following the death of the woman, local residents took to the streets, blocking roads and staging a sit-in, demanding permanent solutions to the problem. They have also demanded adequate compensation for the victim’s family.
It may be noted that at least five people were injured in a bull attack last week.
