Puri: In a horrific case, body of a young woman with her throat slit and hands tied was found in Mangupada forest at Jagdalpur under Delanga police limits in Puri district on Wednesday morning.
Locals spotted the body with no clothes on it and informed police.
Given the circumstances, police suspect the woman was raped and then murdered.
A knife, an SBI ATM card, SBI Green Remit Card, bra and a blood stained pair of jeans were recovered from the spot, police sources said.
The identity of the woman is yet to ascertained.
Meanwhile, a scientific team and dog squad was rushed to forest as part of the investigation.
