Jharsuguda: In yet another case, a woman undergoing treatment at a COVID hospital here has delivered a baby. This is first such instance in the district.
According to hospital sources, the pregnant woman was admitted after her test reports confirmed her to be COVID-19 positive.
She had come in contact with a previous positive case and undergone antigen test on August 8. After her reports came out positive, she was admitted to Jharsuguda COVID Hospital.
When she complained of labour pain last night, a special doctors’ team was engaged for her delivery. The condition of both the mother and the newborn is stable, the sources said. The district administration has made all special arrangements to look after them.
This is first such instance in the district and special attention is being given to both of them at the hospital, the sources said.
Jharsuguda ADM Pradeep Sahoo congratulated the doctors’ team for the delivery of the baby.
Earlier, a COVId-19 positive woman had given birth at the Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput.
