Kalahandi: A woman was allegedly hacked to death by her neighbour on the suspicion of practising witchcraft at Nuagaon under Sadar police limits in Kalahandi district on Tuesday.
She was identified as Sabe Bay.
A local resident said, “Sabe and her son Yudhisthir Das were sitting in their house when their neighbor Thabir Putel suddenly barged in and attacked them with an axe. The accused fled the spot after committing the crime.”
While the woman succumbed to her injuries, her son was rushed to Bhawanipatna hospital in a critical condition.
Police have started investigation to determine the exact reason behind the brutal attack.
