Berhampur: A woman has killed her husband after the latter attacked her with a sharp weapon in Ganjam district.
According to sources, Pancha Nayak had married Kuni Nayak, the daughter of his maternal uncle and were staying at Balighai under Sorada police station. Kuni had gone to her father’s house at Olamba village under Badagada police station in Dharakote block a few days back.
The couple had a heated exchange of words over some issues when Pancha went to meet her. Pancha, who was in an inebriated condition, attacked Kuni with a sharp weapon. Kuni and her elder sister resisted Pancha and subsequently killed him. Kuni sustained injuries in the scuffle.
Pratap Chandra Tripathy, IIC of Badagada police station said Pancha might have died due to asphyxiation, according to preliminary investigation.
Police have arrested Kuni and sent the body for post-mortem, he added.
