Rourkela: A woman Maoist surrendered before Rourkela police on Wednesday. She was identified as Muli Nayak (22) alias Arti, a resident of Jharkhand.
Arti was active along Odisha-Jharkhand border and involved in several incidents of Maoist violence, police sources said. She would be rehabilitated in accordance with the state government’s surrender policy, the sources added.
On June 7, a Maoist couple had surrendered in Malkangiri. They were carrying a cash reward of Rs 9 lakh on their head for their alleged involvement in several incidents of violence, including murder.
