Kozhikode: A transgender couple was blessed with a baby here on Wednesday.
Ziya Paval and Zahad, whose pregnancy photographs went viral on social media recently, represent India’s first trans couple pregnancy.
Zahad, a trans man who was carrying the child, gave birth to a healthy baby through a Caesarean section at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
“Happiest day of my life. I got several messages that pained me, it’s a reply to them. I thank all those who supported us,” ANI quoted Zahad’s partner Ziya, who is a trans woman.
The couple lived together for three years before Zahad, a 23-year-old accountant, conceived the baby.
