Bhubaneswar: In a tragic mishap, a labourer was killed and two others were critically injured after a concrete structure fell on them during renovation work of an old building in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
As per preliminary information, seven workers were engaged in the work at the site at Lingaraj Vihar in Pokhariput area of the city when the mishap took place.
As work was in progress, an old beam collapsed and fell on the workers, who got trapped under the concrete structure.
After receiving information about the incident, a team of Fire Service personnel rushed to the site and launched a rescue operation.
Sources one of the workers died on the spot, while the other two were immediately rushed to Capital Hospital for treatment. Their condition was stated to be critical. Further details are awaited.
