World Cup: Siraj Leaks Runs But Bumrah’s 4/39 Restricts Afghanistan To 272/8
New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah was at his fiery best at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday and was mainly responsible for restricting Afghanistan to 272/8 on a decent batting track.
Team India’s pace spearhead Bumrah produced his best World Cup bowling performance to finish with figures of 10-0-39-4.
Hardik Pandya bagged two wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav (1/40) again proved to be difficult to score off. However, Mohammed Siraj — who is being preferred to the more experienced Mohammed Shami – is a cause for concern. He leaked runs (0/76 in 9 overs) and failed to get a wicket as well.
Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi top-scored with 80 and Azmatullah Omarzai made 62.
Team India are looking for their second straight win in the 2023 ODI World Cup, heaving beaten Australia by 6 wickets in the opener.
