Bhubaneswar: The first Akshaya Chandra Ray Memorial Award will be presented to writer Swagatika Swain for her novel ‘Drohakala’.
The award has been instituted in memory of Adya Publications’ founder and engineer Akshaya Chandra Ray by Pratibha Ray Trust in association with Adya Publications.
Informing about the selection of awards vice-president of the Trust Dr Adyasha Das said, a total of 15 books of writers under the age of 50 were received as entries for the award. A jury of four noted writers selected novel ‘Drohakala’ of Swagatika Swain.
The award, cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a memento, will be presented to Swagatika at a function in Jayadev Bhavan here on March 30, Dr Adyasha Das added.
The award is dedicated to recognise young writers and encourage more such talents, said Dr Das.
Drohakala has been published by Pakshighar Prakashani.
