Mumbai: Versatile and critically acclaimed actress Radhika Apte welcomed her first child last year in December.
The new mom, who quickly got back to work post-delivery, was recently seen at the BAFTA Awards, where her film, ‘Sister Midnight’ has been nominated.
Dressed up in a semi-sheer and flowy lavender-hued gown, the actress looked gorgeous on the red carpet.
Among the glammed-up pictures shared on her social media handle, was a picture from behind-the-scene in which Radhika was seen holding a glass of champagne, while pumping breast milk.
Along with the pictures, she wrote, “And now my BAFTAs reality (laughing face emoji). I have to thank Natasha @tashtash07 for making it possible for me to attend the BAFTAs. She scheduled the itinerary around my breast-pumping timings. She not only accompanied me to the washroom to express milk but, more importantly, brought me champagne in the loo.”

As soon as the pictures from BAFTA went viral, netizens trolled Radhika for sending a wrong message by consuming alcohol while breastfeeding.
One netizen wrote, “Are you kidding…you cannot have alcohol and breastfeed at the same time.”
Another posted, “It is sad that you are drinking while breastfeeding.”
“Hey, this is a very wrong message you are sending to others. It’s not only when you are pumping; when you are breastfeeding mom, you should leave alcohol and related things. And by chance, if you want to drink anytime, which is not suggested, you should not breastfeed till 24 hours. Please at least think about the baby. The doctor also advised the same,” wrote a user while schooling the actress.
Meanwhile on the work front, Radhika was last seen in the English film ‘Sister Midnight.’ In the film, the actress played the role of a woman in an unhappy arranged marriage.
She will be next seen in an English film ‘Last Days’ and a Hindi show ‘Akka.’
Radhika rose to fame with her performances in films like ‘Manjhi: The Mountain Man’, ‘Parched’, ‘Pad Man’, ‘Andhadhun’, ‘Bombairiya’, and ‘Raat Akeli Hai.’
