Wuhan Wet Market Remains Closed After A Year

Beijing: It is almost a year and the epicentre of COVID-19, Wuhan’s wet market still remains shut.

The market is barricaded and it stands even now.

While China claims the wet market is not the origin of the pandemic, experts from World Health Organization are yet to visit the place. Experts have also warned that finding the origin could take years and might be inconclusive as well.

The market plays an important role in the investigation and is therefore unlikely to be demolished. Experts, however, say that research relies on samples taken immediately after the outbreak.

The virus has claimed over 1.5 million lives so far.
