Puri: Police have arrested a youth for allegedly assaulting a physically challenged minor girl in Odisha’s Puri district.
According to sources, the girl studying in a women’s college at Krushnaprasad in the district was relationship with two youths of the area. A few days back, the two youths came to know each other and made a plan to divulge truth from the girl.
Three days back, one of the youths called to the girl to a forest near the forest to meet her. When the girl reached the spot, the two youths confronted her and demanded to know the truth. But the girl did not reply to their allegation of cheating them.
Agitated over it, the two youths rebuked her in foul language and assaulted her with a stick. They also forced her to smoke cigarette in their presence. They recorded the entire incident and released it in social media.
After the video went viral, the girl filed a complaint in this regard at Krushnaprasad police station. Following investigation, the police have arrested one youth.
