Nilagiri/Balasore: A youth was arrested in the Nilagiri area of Balasore district on Friday over a life-threatening acid attack via Tik-Tok video.
Aarti Sahu, a young woman from the Cuttack Darghasahi Sutahat area, was introduced to Captain Rajput alias Ardhendu of the Nilgiris Ambudiha area and eventually, the duo started creating videos together.
After tactfully obtaining Aarti’s contact numbers, Ardhendu started texting obscene messages to Aarti, which she resisted.
Alleging a life-threatening acid attack, Aarti lodged a complaint with the Cuttack Darghabazar police station against the accused. Later, a case was filed under Sections 294, 507, 34, 67, 67(a). The accused has been arrested by the Nilagiri police and has been handed over to the Darghabazar police. An investigation into the matter is on.
