Baleshwar: A youth was allegedly beaten to death by another using a blunt object in Angargadia area of Odisha’s Baleshwar town.
According to preliminary information, the incident took place in Angargadia area under the Industrial Police Station limits in the town on Friday night after the youth was called from home and attacked with a wooden stick following an altercation.
Sources said the deceased and the accused are both local youths and work in a factory. The two reportedly entered into an argument over some issue.
The verbal duel reportedly turned violent and one of them allegedly attacked the other with a wooden stick, inflicting him grievous injuries. The youth later succumbed to injuries.
The exact circumstances leading to his death were yet to be ascertained and an investigation into the incident has been launched by the police.
Following the incident, police reached the spot and recovered the body and launched an investigation. The deceased youth’s body was sent to the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Sources said the accused was later detained in connection with the incident and further investigation is underway.
