YouTube has suspended Donald Trump indefinitely from its platform.
The Google-owned firm will also prevent the former US President’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani from monetizing his clips, AFP reported.
YouTube had clamped a temporary ban on Trump following the January 6 riot in Washington in which he was accused of inciting supporters who stormed the US Capitol where lawmakers had gathered to formalize Joe Biden’s election victory.
Other social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook have already banning Trump’s accounts.
“In light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, the Donald J Trump channel will remain suspended,” a YouTube spokesperson was quoted as saying.
The company also stated that Giuliani’s account would be barred from the Partner Program — which allows creators to make money off their videos — after he repeatedly violated YouTube policy against posting misleading information about the US election.
