Yuvraj Singh’s Biopic, Soon: From Six Sixes To Cancer Battle On Big Screen

Mumbai: T-Series Films officially announced on Tuesday the making of a biopic on the life of cricketer and cancer survivor, Yuvraj Singh.

According to a post by the production house on X, the film’s tentative title appears to be Six Sixes.

The film will focus on Yuvraj’s remarkable journey from World Cup hero to cancer survivor. It will showcase his success on and off the field. “Relive the legend’s journey from the pitch to the heart of millions — Yuvraj Singh’s story of grit and glory is coming soon on the big screen!” the makers wrote on X.

T-Series head Bhushan Kumar has joined hands with producer Ravi Bhagchandka to bring Yuvraj’s story on the big screen. Ravi had earlier backed the 2017 documentary, Sachin: A Billion Dreams.

The film is likely to recreate some iconic moments in Yuvraj’s long career. For instance, it will depict the scene when he hit six sixes in a single over against England bowler Stuart Broad during India’s 2007 T20 World Cup-winning campaign. The film is also likely to showcase his contributions to India’s 2011 World Cup victory. In this championship, he was player of the series. In the same year, he was diagnosed with cancer. The film is likely to showcase his battle against cancer and return to cricket in 2012. He retired from international cricket in 2019.

“I am deeply honoured that my story will be showcased to millions of my fans across the globe by Bhushan-ji and Ravi. Cricket has been my greatest love and source of strength through all the highs and lows. I hope this film inspires others to overcome their own challenges and pursue their dreams with unwavering passion,” Singh said, as quoted by Variety.
