All 4 Gates Of Puri Jagannath Temple To Be Opened Tomorrow: New Odisha CM Mohan Majhi After 1st Cabinet Meeting

Bhubaneswar: All four gates of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri will be opened for devotees from Thursday, new Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Wednesday.

Majhi, who chaired the first cabinet meeting shortly after the BJP government took oath, told reporters that the four doors of the 12th century shrine will be opened on Thursday morning in the presence of the members of the council of ministers.

Four important decisions, in line with the pre-poll promises made by the BJP, were taken at the first cabinet meeting of the Mohan Majhi-led government held at Lok Seva Bhawan.

“Devotees will have access to Puri Jagannath temple through all four gates from tomorrow morning,” he said, adding that the decision was taken as per the promise made by the BJP in its election manifesto for the recent Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in the state.

Sharing information about other important decisions taken at the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister said that a corpus fund of Rs 500 crore will be created for the overall development of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.

Similarly, the also approved a proposal to bring soon a new policy for farmers – Samruddha Krushak Niti – which will deal with raising the minimum support price for paddy to Rs 3100 per quintal, Majhi said. The policy will be brought within 100 days.

The cabinet also approved the implementation of the Subhadra Yojana in next 100 days and  Rs 50,000 cash voucher will be provided to women across the state under the scheme, the Chief Minister added.
