1,000 Solar Lights Installed On Bhubaneswar Roads In One Year: MP

Bhubaneswar: Around 1,000 solar lights have been installed on the roads of the Capital City with MPLAD fund in the last one year, said Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi.

Listing her achievements in her first year as MP, Sarangi said the fly-over at Hanspal over NH-16 in the city will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 32 crore. The MP laid the foundation stone for the project in June after Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari gave his approval on her initiative.

She also took up the long pending demand for direct flight to Surat in Gujarat with Civil Aviation Ministry.

Targeting to plant five lakh saplings in her constituency after the green cover was devastated in cyclone Fani, the Lok Sabha member said 87,000 saplings have already been planted.

“Around 61,000 people of Bhubaneswar have downloaded the Aarogya Setu app and 42,000 have donated to PM-Care,” Sarangi said.

She had also raised several issues of her constituency in the Parliament including renovation of Daya canal, desiltation of Gangua nullah and rainwater harvesting.
