100th Day Of Lockdown: India’s COVID-19 Tally Breaches 6 Lakh-Mark; Recovery Rate 59.43%
New Delhi: India’s coronavirus tally breached the six-lakh mark on the 100th day of the nationwide lockdown. A total of 6,04,641 people have been infected so far with the addition of 19,148 new cases in the last 24 hours.
A total of 434 people have died of the deadly coronavirus across the country since Wednesday taking the toll to 17,834, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.
According to ICMR, 90,56,173 samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far, including 2,29,588 on Wednesday.
On a positive note, 3,59,671 people recovered from the infection so far. The recovery rate is gradually rising and now stands at 59.43 per cent. At present, there are 2,26,947 active COVID-19 cases in the country.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and Gujarat have reported the most number of cases. Maharashtra witnessed a new high of 5,537 cases as stringent lockdown began in Thane district.
