Baripada: The CJM court here on Thursday sentenced former manager of Bank of India (BOI) and four others to 14-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 27 lakh on each of them in Rs 1.31 crore fraud case.
After hearing the case, the court in Mayurbhanj district convicted the former manager of BOI’s Jharapokharia branch Girija Mishra, field officer Satyarupa Mohanty, suppliers Bangali Jena, Sushant Jena and Agent Satyananda Patra under various sections of IPC.
As per the case, they had swindled Rs 1.31 crore by forging document of 131 persons under Jalanidhi Yojana meant to provide water pumps to farmers in 2012-13.
