Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar-based Universities, KIIT & Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), have found place in Times Higher Education: Asia University Rankings 2025.
While KIIT University occupies the 184 position, marking a significant improvement from last year’s position of 196, SOA is in the 251-300 rankings.
With this latest ranking, KIIT is the 8th best university in India among government and private institutions. Further, in the Sports Science subject, KIIT is ranked 2nd in India.
Founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS Achyuta Samanta expressed heartfelt gratitude to the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and well-wishers who have played a pivotal role in this achievement. “This recognition reflects the collective efforts and the mission-driven spirit that define KIIT. We share this success with every individual who believes in our values,” he added.
The list features some of the top educational institutes of the region.
China has maintained its dominance with the top two positions, while other five of top ten have been bagged by Singapore, Japan, and Hong Kong. Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Mongolia, and Syria are the new entrants in the rankings.
The best Indian universities have also made the cut in the list with 20 institutions placed among Asia’s top 250. Indian Institute of Science or IISc has bagged the top spot in India with 38 ranking, followed by Anna University at 111, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore at 131, Mahatma Gandhi University at 140, Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences at 146, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences at 149 and Jamia Millia Islamia at 161.
A total of 853 universities from 35 countries and territories were assessed based on performance across teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.
