Puri: In a barbaric act, a group of hooligans allegedly tied two minor boys to a pole and brutally thrashed them at a village in Odisha’s Puri district.
As per preliminary information, the gruesome incident took place at Kotkosang village under the jurisdiction of Balanga police station on Saturday night.
It was alleged that the two boys were also branded with burning cigarette butts and forced to drink urine after being tied to electric poles and first beaten up mercilessly.
After the complaint was filed, police have started an investigation into the incident. The police have sent the injured boys to hospital for treatment.
Locals said a socio-cultural event was being held in Kotkosang village and two minors of Virat Sahi had gone there. There was a scuffle between two groups of Kotkosang and Pradhan Sahi. Police took youths from Pradhan Sahi to the police station.
The minor boys were returning home when some youths from Kotkosang mistook them for residents of Pradhan Sahi and surrounded him. Later, they tied them to an electric pole, thrashed with iron rod.
