2 Electrocuted As Truck Hits Transformer In Odisha’s Ganjam
Berhampur: Two persons were killed as a truck rammed into an electricity transformer in a seaside village of Ganjam district early Sunday morning.
According to sources, the incident took place at Anantraipur village under Sunpur police station near Gopalpur where the truck had come to load fish. While the driver was taking the truck on reverse gear, its back side crashed into the transformer.
The driver identified as Pankhil Nathan Subramaniam and supervisor Madham Kumar Mutthuranjan fell unconscious due to electrocution. The helper also sustained injuries.
The locals rushed them to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, here, where Pankhil and Madham were declared brought dead. The helper is undergoing treatment.
The police have registered a case of unnatural death and further investigation is on.
While Pankhil and Madham belong to Tamil Nadu, the truck is registered in the name of the helper, police sources said.
