2000 Subhadra Yojana Applications Rejected During Verification: Odisha Deputy CM

Bhubaneswar: Around 2,000 applications for Odisha government’s ambitious Subhadra Yojana have been rejected so far during verification.

This was stated by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who holds the Women and Child Development portfolio.

Stating that over 97,000 applications for the scheme were pending by Tuesday night, she said almost all the applications have been approved during verification. However, applications of around 2,000 women have been rejected probably because of some mistakes in the information relating to bank accounts, said Parida.

The Deputy CM said that all eligible beneficiaries get themselves registered will receive the first instalment under the scheme, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

Notably, the Prime Minister launched Subhadra Yojana, the state government’s flagship scheme aimed at empowering women in the state and making them self-sufficient.

The women beneficiaries will get financial assistance of Rs 50,000 in five years between 2024-25 and 2028-29 in instalments. The first instalment was credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries on Tuesday.

The beneficiaries will receive financial assistance of Rs 10,000 annually in two equal instalments on  the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and International Women’s Day every year.
