Bhubaneswar: Twenty-four teams are vying for glory in the All India Sainik Schools Inter-Group Football Tournament 2025, which was inaugurated on Monday at Sainik School Bhubaneswar.
The tournament, which brings together talented young footballers from the Sainik School network across India, will continue till June 15.
Odisha’s Minister of Sports & Youth Services Suryabanshi Suraj, who was the chief guest, lauded the Sainik School system for nurturing not just academic excellence but also sporting spirit, discipline, and leadership among India’s future defence personnel.
The minister also praised Sainik School Bhubaneswar for its fine preparations and warm hospitality.
Competition will be held in three categories — Sub-Junior Boys (Under-15), Junior Boys (Under-17) and Junior Girls (Under-17).
The winners will represent Sainik Schools in their respective categories in the Subroto Cup International Tournament 2025.
