25-Feet Deep Tunnel, Sandbags Marked ‘Karachi’ Detected Near Indo-Pak border

The Border Security Force (BSF) has detected a tunnel near the India-Pakistan border in the Bengalad area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district.

According to officials, the tunnel is 25 feet deep and 150 metre long on the Indian side. Some sandbags with the markings ‘Shakkergarh’ and ‘Karachi’ — both in Pakistan — were also found.

The nearest Pakistani post from the location of the tunnel is about 400 metres, they added.

The BSF has launched a major search operation to find out other such hidden structures that help infiltration from the Pakistan side.

Cross-border tunnels were detected on the Indian side of the international border in Jammu & Kashmir region in 2012, 2014 and 2016 also.
